Person-Centred Counsellor MBACP

Josephine Hancock

Experience

My professional life has been shaped by more than 20 years in the NHS, where I supported people navigating illness, injury, and long-term health conditions. Working first in adult mental health and later in physical rehabilitation helped me understand how complex and interconnected our experiences can be, and how important it is to feel truly seen and supported.

Mindfulness has been a steady companion in my own life. My training with the Mindfulness Association and my post graduate studies at the University of Aberdeen deepened my belief in the importance of compassionate, grounded care.

It felt like a natural step to study person-centred counselling, allowing me to integrate everything I had learned so far into a way of working that feels authentic, compassionate, and aligned with my values.

Today, I bring together my professional experience, mindfulness training, and a calm, person-centred approach to offer a space where you can feel supported, understood, and able to explore whatever you are facing at your own pace. My intention is to meet you with warmth, curiosity, and respect as we work together.
